On Sharks and Humanity

On Sharks and Humanity - It is a powerful exhibition demonstrating the relationship between art and society. It's purpose is to raise public awareness about shark conservation given their importance of maintaining the balance of the marine ecosystem.

Growing up in Hong Kong, I was exposed to shark fin soup which is considered to be a luxury dish served on special occasions.

I wasn't aware about the situation of sharks: why they are important in the marine ecosystem, how they are killed (its shameful how we kill them!) and how we can protect them until I started diving.

Below are some of the images I took from the exhibition which touched me. Hope you will enjoy it too. If you have time, I highly recommend you to visit the exhibition.

The exhibition is from June 29th - September 30th, 2017 at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, Central Pier No. 8. www.hkmaritimemuseum.org

They have programmes for adults and also for children to enjoy. It's a great chance to learn how sharks interact with us in our daily lives. 🤔
